The citizen gallery concept
In 2009, the municipal team decided to make culture accessible to all, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by the town hall. The first exhibition on Condean artist Paul Vinette was a success and a catalyst. Over the years, the notion of a civic gallery has taken root.
Over the years, the Galerie Citoyenne de Condé-sur-Sarthe has become a key address for amateur artists looking to showcase their work. It has welcomed artists from a wide range of disciplines: painting, photography, sculpture, philately, engraving, heritage, comics, sewing?
The proximity of the school also makes for excellent encounters between teachers, young Condéens and artists. The ASL?s "Beaux-Arts" section regularly invites "young" artists to exhibit for the first time.
