Alençon is a major stage on this 450km“Grand spectacle” route from Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel.
La Véloscénie takes you to the heart of the Chevreuse Valley, the Perche region and the Normandy bocage, where you can (re)discover some of the finest monuments in French history.

24 km route From Mêle-sur-Sarthe to Alençon

Alternating false flats, road crossings and a crossing of the Bourse forest: this pleasant green route will take you straight to the heart of Alençon town centre.
But on the way, there’s nothing to stop you taking a short 6km diversions towards La-Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet to visit the fascinating “La belle échappée” cycling museum.

29 km route From Alençon to Pré-en-Pail-Saint-Samson

Suitable for family outings, this route starts in Damigny and follows an old railway line that has been converted into an easy, safe greenway.
The route takes you through unspoilt countryside such as the Sarthon valley and the Mont des Avaloirs regional nature reserve, the latter being accessible by bike via a rather strenuous diversions that is amply rewarded by the superb views over the bocage from the belvedere.

29 km route From Alençon to Carrouges

This is certainly the most strenuous stage of La Véloscénie… but take heart, your efforts will take you to some very fine views of the Écouves forest and a memorable finish at Carrouges castle.
Along the way, be sure to stop off in the village of La Roche-Mabile, on the banks of the Sarthon, at the foot of the unmissable Butte Chaumont.
