Map of the Little Queen loop

Itinerary from the Alpes Mancelles to the Saosnois (130 km)

Leaving the ancient Cité des Ducs, you will take small roads in the Alpes Mancelles, through lush green countryside, before entering the majestic Perseigne forest, with its surprising hollows and valleys, its avenues and groves. Nature lovers can enjoy a picnic on the banks of the Sarthe or in the forest, not forgetting the Halles de Mamers. In the heart of the Perseigne massif, the 30-metre-high Belvedere is the highest point in the Sarthe département (340 m). Once at the top, you’ll appreciate the magnificent 360° panoramic view. Don’t hesitate to stop off at the Musée du Vélo in Villeneuve-en-Perseigne, which traces the history of the Tour de France from its inception to the 1990s.

This cycling loop is signposted in both directions:
follow La Vélobuissonnière (V44) between Alençon and Beaumont-sur-Sarthe, passing through Fresnay-sur-Sarthe (western part of the loop).
follow La Sarthe à vélo between Beaumont-sur-Sarthe and Alençon via Mamers (eastern part of the loop).

Good to know!

From La Petite Reine, you can join La Véloscénie,
