Raphaël, what he likes...

Raphaël B.

Raphaël, partner advisor at Alençon Tourisme. My role? To advise and guide our visitors in French, English (and even Russian!) and also to boost our network of partners. A subtle blend of Poitou and Réunion, raised in a winery in Indre-et-Loire, I've learnt to discover and appreciate the rich historical and natural heritage of the Orne, which I'm now keen to share with you. And when it comes to world cuisine, travel or rhum arrangé, I'm your man!

Cycling in the Orne countryside

Personally, I love cycling around Héloup, enjoying the peace and quiet of the country roads and the beauty of the scenery: lush green valleys, hedge-lined paths, and that feeling of escape just a few pedal strokes from Alençon!

I also love going to the Écouves forest, where you can take a deep breath and, if you’re lucky, spot roe deer or squirrels, depending on the season.
My advice: take a picnic with you to enjoy a convivial moment in nature with family and friends. And if you want to extend your discovery, the surrounding area is full of little treasures: chapels, old mills and panoramic views that are well worth a photo break.

Stroll on the Fuie des Vignes route

A real green lung for our beloved town of Alençon, I love going for a walk around the Fuie des Vignes, a protected sensitive natural area where nature seems to have reclaimed its rights. The 81-hectare site is within easy walking distance of the town centre and links the Perseigne and Courteille districts of Alençon. Here you can discover a variety of natural environments living side by side, as well as a wide range of biodiversity, flora and fauna.

By following the signs along the way, you can learn more about the richness of this area. You can rest on the banks of the Sarthe and enjoy the gentle sunshine while admiring the landscape.
