Lou, that's what she likes...

Lou M.

Lou, community manager and tourism advisor at Alençon Tourisme. I'm one of the faces you'll meet when you walk through the doors of our Tourist Office. Between welcoming travellers, giving guided tours and working on social networks, my motto is: sharing history with style. I'm passionate about art history and know all the best podcasts to listen to, and I'm currently working on my title of guide-conférencier to give our beloved heritage even more of a voice. And if you're looking for a vintage song to get stuck into your head, I'm a real jukebox!

The village of La Roche-Mabile and its thousand-year-old church

I like to go to La Roche-Mabile. This thousand-year-old village has one of the oldest churches in the Orne. Its steeple dominates the village and an ancient statue of St Peter can be seen on its façade. When you push open the door, you find yourself immersed in a calm and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a short break.
Walk around and you’ll see that the village has retained its authentic charm, with its narrow streets and old houses.

Don’t hesitate to take a stroll along the banks of the River Sarthon below, to cool off in the shade of the trees. Then walk a few metres to the unusual wooden chapel of La Cassine.

The surrounding area is also great for walking or cycling: lush green valleys, narrow country lanes, and viewpoints where you can really breathe in nature. Personally, I love taking a notebook with me to sketch a landscape, take my Polaroid with me or just enjoy a moment out of time.
