It’s the story of how Michèle, a French teacher, and Philippe, a pharmacist, first met and then came into contact with a charming property and its hectare of parkland in the pretty village of Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei, in the heart of the Alpes Mancelles.
With a love of nature and a passion for the world of plants, they embarked on an ambitious project to restore and breathe new life into the place they had grown so fond of. Michèle carried out extensive research into the art of gardens, began drawing up the plans and devoted herself entirely to renovating the estate.
After 6 years of tenacious work, the couple decided in 2002 to open this unique site to the public, with its fifteen or so themed areas: Japanese, Romantic, Italian patio…
It was a great success, and today they welcome many visitors every year, not only during the day but also at summer evenings, when the notes of a classical music orchestra fill the gardens, which are lit up with candles for the occasion.
