Creator of Les Chèvres de Saint-Céneri

Born in Alençon, Camille has always loved animals and nature. Even as a child, she spent a lot of time with her farmer grandparents and hoped that one day she too would work on a farm in one way or another. But it wasn’t to be for a long time… She began by studying landscape gardening at an agricultural college in Le Mans. Faced with a shortage of vacancies in her chosen sector, she finally found a job with a firm of surveyors. More than ten years went by and, after getting married and having two children, she finally realised her dream of becoming a farmer!

She went back to school and obtained a vocational diploma in “Farm Management”, specialising in cheese processing and goat rearing. Yes, she decided to set up a goat farm! She chose two breeds: the Fossés goat and the Poitevine goat, firstly because they produce high-quality milk, and secondly because they adapt very well to the Normandy climate. Together with her husband, she bought a farm in Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei, in the Alpes Mancelles, and launched her business in early 2021. Today, Camille produces 25 cheeses a day, which she sells at local farmers’ markets and on her farm. It’s a very demanding job, but she loves the great outdoors!
